Split a PDF and extract pages
Pick the pages you need, save them as one PDF or as separate files, and rotate or delete pages along the way. All in your browser.
Your file never leaves your computer — nothing is uploaded. Pages are extracted in this browser tab. Files up to 200 MB.

Separate files are downloaded one after another. Your browser may ask once whether this site may download several files; allow it.
Publishing one chapter or a single section online? Put it in Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive and turn it into a free flipbook you can embed on your site.
Sometimes you need three pages out of eighty: the price list from a catalogue, one chapter of a report, the signed page of a contract. Sometimes a scan came out with two pages upside down and a blank one in the middle. This tool handles all of that in one screen, and it does it in your browser. The PDF is opened on your own device, you see a thumbnail of every page, and the new file is created right here. Nothing is uploaded, so a confidential document stays exactly as confidential as it was.
Choosing pages
Tick the pages you want under their thumbnails, or type them in the Pages field and press Select. The field understands the notation you know from printing:
- 1-3, 7 selects pages 1, 2, 3 and 7.
- 5- selects page 5 to the end; -4 selects the first four pages.
- A page that does not exist, or a range written backwards, gets a message that says exactly what is wrong.
Pages always come out in the order they have in the document.
One PDF or one file per page
Selected pages as one PDF gives you a single new document with only those pages, named after the original with -split added. Each selected page as its own PDF creates one file per page, named with the page number, such as report-p7.pdf. They are downloaded one after another rather than packed into a zip, so there is nothing to unpack afterwards.
Rotating and deleting pages
Use the rotate button under a thumbnail to turn that page a quarter turn clockwise, and the bin to mark it as deleted. Deleted pages are greyed out and left out of everything you save; press the button again to bring a page back. To keep the whole document but fix it, use Save whole PDF with rotations and deletions.
Rotating only changes the page's orientation setting. The content is not redrawn, so text stays sharp, searchable and selectable, and links keep working.
Large documents and phones
Thumbnails are drawn as they scroll into view, so even a document with hundreds of pages opens quickly. Everything happens in your browser's memory, which is why the limit is 200 MB per file. On a phone the thumbnails shrink to fit more per row, and every control is a button you can tap.
Password-protected PDFs
If a PDF is encrypted, the tool tells you and stops. It does not try to break or bypass the protection. Open the file with its password in a PDF reader, save an unprotected copy, and split that.
Publishing the result
An extracted chapter or a single brochure is often exactly what you want to share online. Rather than attaching it to an email, put the file in your cloud storage and turn it into a page-flip flipbook. Readers open it in the browser and you can replace the file later without changing the link. To join documents instead of separating them, use the merge tool.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The pages are read, rotated and extracted inside your browser. Nothing is sent to Toombler or anyone else.
How do I select a range of pages?
Type it in the Pages field, for example 1-3, 7 or 10-, and press Select. You can also tick pages under their thumbnails.
Why are some separate files missing?
Browsers block several downloads in a row until you allow it. Look for a prompt or an icon in the address bar, allow multiple downloads for this site, and try again.
Does rotating a page reduce quality?
No. Only the orientation setting of the page changes; the content is not redrawn, so text stays sharp and searchable.
Can I reorder pages?
Extracted pages keep their original order. To change the order of whole documents, use the merge tool.
What is the maximum file size?
200 MB per file, because the document is held in your browser's memory while you work on it.
