How to make a flipbook from a PDF

Turn any PDF into a realistic, page-flipping flipbook in a few minutes — no software to install and no file upload.

A flipbook turns a flat PDF into an interactive book your readers can leaf through, with a realistic page-turn animation, clickable links and a table of contents. This guide shows how to make one for free with Toombler, straight from a PDF in your Google Drive.

What you need

Step 1 — Put your PDF in Google Drive

Upload your PDF to Google Drive, right-click the file and choose Share → Anyone with the link → Viewer, then copy the link. This step matters: the file must be shared as “Anyone with the link” so the viewer can load it. Your PDF stays in your own Drive — Toombler never stores a copy.

Step 2 — Create the flipbook

Sign in at toombler.com/app with Google, paste your Drive link (or just the file ID), give it a title and click Add flipbook. Toombler renders your PDF into a page-flip viewer instantly.

Step 3 — Choose your settings

Open the settings panel to fine-tune the look and feel: a hard cover, page-flip sound, a table of contents from your PDF bookmarks, thumbnails, zoom, fullscreen, auto-play and more. You can also protect a flipbook with a PIN or set an expiry date.

Step 4 — Embed it on your website

Copy the embed code and paste it into your site. Toombler works everywhere — a plain iframe, a lightweight JS snippet, a web component, oEmbed, or the official WordPress plugin with a Gutenberg block and shortcode. The flipbook is fully responsive and scales to any container width.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?
Yes. Toombler is free, supported by a single ad on the inside cover of each flipbook. There is no watermark over your pages.

Do I need to install anything?
No. Toombler runs in the browser and reads your PDF directly from Google Drive — nothing to install and no upload.

Can I update the PDF later?
Yes. Replace the file in Google Drive while keeping the same share link, and the flipbook updates automatically.

Where can I embed it?
Anywhere you can paste HTML: WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, Shopify, Ghost and custom sites, via iframe, JS snippet, web component or oEmbed.
