Why we built a free flipbook maker that reads straight from the storage you already use.
Toombler was built on a simple idea: turning a PDF into a beautiful, interactive flipbook should be free, fast and effortless — without uploading your file to yet another platform.
Most flipbook tools ask you to upload your document to their servers, stamp a watermark on it and charge a monthly fee. Toombler takes a different route. Your file stays in your own Google Drive (Google Docs and Slides included), Dropbox or OneDrive; Toombler simply reads it and renders a realistic page-flip viewer that you can embed anywhere. No upload, no watermark, no software to install.
What Toombler does
Toombler converts PDFs from Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive, as well as Google Docs and Google Slides, into responsive flipbooks with real page-flip animation, a table of contents from your PDF bookmarks, clickable links, zoom and more. You can embed a flipbook on any website — WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow or Shopify — via an iframe, a lightweight script, a web component, oEmbed, or our official WordPress plugin.
Privacy first
Because your PDF never leaves your own storage, you stay in control of your document. Toombler stores only what it needs to show your flipbook: the share link, your settings and an anonymous view count. We don't store your PDF, we don't track your readers with cross-site cookies, and we don't collect their IP addresses. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
Free, and here to stay
Toombler is free. It used to carry one advertisement on the inside cover of every flipbook; that is gone since October 2026, because it earned almost nothing and cost your readers a third-party script. What pays for it now is advertising on Toombler's own pages, where it bothers nobody who is reading your document.
Who's behind Toombler
Toombler is built and maintained by Mark van Winsen, an independent maker from the Netherlands. Every guide on this site is written from hands-on experience building and using the product — no outsourced or auto-generated content. Mark also maintains the official Toombler WordPress plugin.
How it is paid for
Toombler runs on Cloudflare's free tier: the pages are served from their edge network and the database is a small SQLite file at the edge. That keeps the running costs low enough that advertising on Toombler's own guide pages covers them — never inside your flipbook. There are no investors, no paid plan in preparation, and no data being sold — the whole point of reading your PDF from your own storage is that there is nothing to sell.
What Toombler will not do
Some things are decisions rather than features. Toombler will not keep a copy of your PDF, will not put a watermark over your pages, will not ask for an email address before showing you the tool, and will not build a limit into the free plan in order to sell you out of it. If a flipbook of yours stops working, it is because the file moved at your end — which is inconvenient, and is also the price of keeping the document yours.
